John Lemon Nelson II, born 18 October 1870 in Arkansas, was the son of John Lemon Nelson and Dolly May McNeill Nelson, and a pastor by occupation. He married Lillian May Boothe in 1899 and Mary Magdalene Moss in 1908. He and Mary Magdalene raised eleven children in Owen Township, Pulaski County, where the census recorded the household from 1900 through 1930. He died at Maumelle in 1938 and was buried at Grimmett Cemetery in Little Rock three days later.
